We work with all kinds of businesses and creators. From small start ups to big, existing corporate brands, educators, fitness centres and financial planners - you name it, we’ve done it. We also work closely with speakers, influencers, artists and athletes on personal brands.
Our single most important thing that we look for in our clients is passion. We also love to align with individuals that lead with kindness and intention. -
We build all our websites on Squarespace, which is an easy to use platform that you can add to and update once we have created your custom design. Our basic websites include 5 pages; Home, About, Services, Blog and Contact. We can easily create shop fronts and links to / integrations with bookings systems. Please note that hosting is not included in the build cost, you would need to jump on a plan with Squarespace - Squarespace looks after all the security and automatic plugin updates for you, making it secure and easy to use.

First and foremost, Squarespace is extremely easy for you to use in the back end. It’s also extremely secure in comparison to something like Wordpress. Wordpress plugins require regular updates by your website developer and without them, you can create loop holes for hackers to take over and change your website.
Squarespace does ALL the updates for you automatically - keeping it secure. We’ve been working in Squarespace for 10 years now and haven’t had a single website fall down due to hosting or security issues. Most of all, we’re all about creating something really beautiful to showcase your brand that you can easily update and add to when needed - Squarespace provides that every single time.You don’t need to pay us ongoing monthly retainer fees to keep your site secure, it’s a one time design and build fee.
We won’t go MIA on you though, we check in annually to offer an optional and affordable refresh, to keep your website and SEO up to date and looking fab! Most of our clients opt for a refresh as their business continues to evolve, and your website should always reflect that growth! -
We are Squarespace experts, we unfortunately no longer work with Wordpress or Shopify.
Why not, you ask?
Wordpress uses plugins that need regular updates, to ensure that your site remains secure. This is a costly / timely exercise for you the client and we want to simplify your website experience. Wordpress also has to be hosted elsewhere, whereas Squarespace does all the hosting and automatic security updates for you - which means you don’t have to pay your website developer to do the ongoing maintenance monthly.
Why not Shopify?
Squarespace is a much easier client based experience - meaning it’s easier for you to make ongoing additions, changes and edits. We’ve had many clients migrate from Shopify to Squarespace because of ease of use. Squarespace also offer better platforms for digital products and subscription based services, as well as physical products - in our opinion. Design wise we also believe that Squarespace offers more felxibility - which means you get a better looking website!
If you’re worried about product limitations on Squarespace, fear not, you can list 10,000 products, with 250 variants of each product, images, and SKUs. -
Absolutely!! We love doing rebrands! We'll go through colour choices, fonts and look and feel before diving into a new logo, colour palette and brand guidelines. We will tailor this to whatever it is that your brand requires.

A website design and build is a two step process, this includes:
Design: This process involves something we call web brand sheets - these showcase the design, look and feel of 5 pages of your website. You can take a look at some examples of them here. We construct web brand sheets so that you know exactly what your pages will look like prior to the build itself. Any pages that exceed the 5 included page designs will be in keeping with the example pages, or you can request to see full designs of all pages on your website at an additional cost. What sets us apart at Basic Black Creative are our stylistic designs and approach to web design itself. We’re not creating a run of the mill website that looks clunky and dated… we’re creating a beautiful showcase of your brand that your clients will remember.The Build: We build all our websites on Squarespace, which is an easy to use platform that you can add to and update once we have created your custom design. Input wise, you simply need to give us imagery you'd like featured (We can find additional royalty free ones if requested or quote on a photography shoot for your brand), and any of the website copy in a word doc by page to pop into the website itself. Our basic websites include 5 pages; Home, About, Services, Blog and Contact. We can easily create shop fronts and links to / integrations with bookings systems. Please note that hosting is not included in the build cost, you would need to jump on a plan with Squarespace - Squarespace looks after all the security and automatic plugin updates for you, making it secure and easy to use. You’re welcome to pay upfront, once your start date is agreed upon - if you want to get the formalities out of the way and just enjoy the fun stuff! Our standard payment structure however is broken down into parts, to make it a little easier.
Payments are made in three (3) stages; 20% of the total quoted cost is required as a non-refundable deposit before commencement and in order to secure your start date - the amount must be received in full prior to the commencement of work, 40% of the total agreed upon quoted amount is to be made upon receiving your web brand sheets (designs), and the final remaining payment is due prior to the delivery of files / go live of the website.

Every project is unique - therefore there is no one size fits all, cost price.
Our branding packages; custom logo, typography, colour palette and brand guidelines begin at $1200.00 AUD.Our website build’s start at $4200.00 AUD. This includes 5 custom page designs and build with multiple rounds of revisions.
Content creation retainers begin at $550.00 AUD.
You will be given an accurate quote to suit your needs once we have a chat about your unique brand. -
After digitally accepting your formal quote, you will also be asked to pay a 20% non-refundable deposit to secure your start date.
Prior to the design process beginning, you’ll receive an onboarding email asking for a few items.
We need all your written copy, along with any images, existing brand files, fonts and guidelines (if you’ve already established your branding prior to us working on a new website together).
These need to be sent to us a week prior to the web branding sheet or design phase of your new digital home. If you don't have images, we can source curated royalty free images or we can quote on doing a shoot with you and your team.
You also need to secure your domain if it's a new site. Squarespace annual plans do provide a free domain with your hosting plan, so if you haven’t already registered, hold off and we’ll see if we can lock down a free domain with your new website plan.
We reccommend Godaddy.com.au if you wish to use another provider, as it's the easiest to connect with Squarespace. If you already have an existing website, we need access to your domain host and any information about emails that may be connected to it. -
We sure do! Everything from business cards to DL’s and signage - we’ve got you covered. This is charged an hourly rate and quoted on project by project basis.

We absolutely do! This is something we do with our most favourite clients… who come to us as a one stop shop on a monthly retainer, that is tailored to their needs. This often includes monthly site visits for content creation, posting to socials, graphic design pieces and ongoing additions to your website.
